Parents furnace went out around Christmas time. Bob came very quick and replaced the faulty inducer. Upon inspection of the furnace he noticed the heat exchanger was in bad shape on this 20+ year old unit. Bob & his team came back and replaced the whole furnace. Job was done very neatly, affordably & professionally. Would highly recommend B&Z heating to anybody in the south suburbs. 5 stars !

Let me start by saying that I have always been very cautious because almost every company tries to rip people off. Well, let me tell you, B&Z provides honest, fair, and quality services. They are a family-owned and operated company. My furnace was overheating due to the wrong air filter. They came, inspected the unit, and scheduled me for a follow-up cleaning. I will be a regular customer and will be getting my yearly cleaning with B&Z from now on!

B & Z is the best. Bob and his crew responded very quickly and helped me make the right decision on a new furnace and AC unit. Unlike many HVAC providers I’ve worked with, Bob carries and can provide any of the major brands, so he does not push one brand and upsell for more than you need. He did a thorough analysis and test to determine the appropriate size systems and gave me options on good, better, best and associated pros and cons. Most importantly Bob is honest and trustworthy. Quick response, comprehensive evaluation and recommendations, competitive and fair pricing and high quality installation. Highly recommend B & Z!

When your furnace quits on a cold night, the first thing you want to know is whether it's a quick fix or a real problem. Our NATE-certified techs track down the actual cause, whether it's a failed igniter, a dirty flame sensor, a worn blower motor, or something more serious like a cracked heat exchanger, then tell you straight with no upsell and no scare tactics. You get a free estimate up front, and when the heat can't wait, our 24/7 emergency line and same-day service have you covered across the southwest suburbs.
If your gas furnace is doing any of these, get it checked before a small fault leaves you without heat on a cold night.
The furnace runs but the air stays cool, or nothing starts when you turn the thermostat up.
The furnace clicks or tries to start but won't light, often a worn igniter or a dirty flame sensor.
The furnace switches on and off every few minutes instead of running one full, steady heating cycle.
Airflow drops off, often from a clogged filter or a struggling blower (the fan that moves heated air through your ducts).
You catch a burning, musty, or gas-like odor each time the furnace kicks on.
Soot or a yellow burner flame can mean a cracked heat exchanger (the chamber that warms your air).
A real fix starts with a real diagnosis, not a parts-swap guess.
We test the igniter, flame sensor, blower, and controls, and inspect the heat exchanger for cracks that could leak carbon monoxide.
Instead of replacing parts one at a time, we find the actual fault so the same problem doesn't come back.
You get one upfront price before any work starts, with no hidden fees and no pressure to replace a furnace that can be fixed.
We complete the repair, then confirm the furnace heats and cycles safely before we leave, including a carbon monoxide check.
A handful of things decide where a furnace repair lands. The biggest is which part failed. A worn hot surface igniter or a dirty flame sensor is a common, straightforward fix, while a cracked heat exchanger, a failed draft inducer motor, or a bad control board is a much bigger job. Whether you run a gas or electric furnace changes the parts involved and the safety checks that come with them. The age and brand of your unit matter too, because older or discontinued models can mean special-ordering a component instead of pulling one off the truck. Where the furnace sits factors in as well, since a cramped attic or a tight utility closet is slower to work in than an open basement. Timing rounds it out, because a planned daytime visit is a different thing from a 2 a.m. emergency call when your heat is out in the middle of a cold snap.
