Parents furnace went out around Christmas time. Bob came very quick and replaced the faulty inducer. Upon inspection of the furnace he noticed the heat exchanger was in bad shape on this 20+ year old unit. Bob & his team came back and replaced the whole furnace. Job was done very neatly, affordably & professionally. Would highly recommend B&Z heating to anybody in the south suburbs. 5 stars !

Let me start by saying that I have always been very cautious because almost every company tries to rip people off. Well, let me tell you, B&Z provides honest, fair, and quality services. They are a family-owned and operated company. My furnace was overheating due to the wrong air filter. They came, inspected the unit, and scheduled me for a follow-up cleaning. I will be a regular customer and will be getting my yearly cleaning with B&Z from now on!

B & Z is the best. Bob and his crew responded very quickly and helped me make the right decision on a new furnace and AC unit. Unlike many HVAC providers I’ve worked with, Bob carries and can provide any of the major brands, so he does not push one brand and upsell for more than you need. He did a thorough analysis and test to determine the appropriate size systems and gave me options on good, better, best and associated pros and cons. Most importantly Bob is honest and trustworthy. Quick response, comprehensive evaluation and recommendations, competitive and fair pricing and high quality installation. Highly recommend B & Z!

Getting a premium heating and cooling system shouldn't break the bank. As Orland Park’s trusted Carrier Authorized Dealer, we offer flexible, budget-friendly financing on top-tier AC units and furnaces, making complete home comfort more accessible than ever.
When your heat pump blows cool air in January or gets stuck in defrost, you notice fast, because unlike a furnace it's the same unit heating and cooling your home all year. B&Z Heating & Air repairs heat pumps across Orland Park and the southwest suburbs, finding the actual fault, whether that's a stuck reversing valve, a failed defrost board, a weak capacitor, or low refrigerant, instead of steering you toward a new system you may not need. You get an honest diagnosis, upfront pricing with no upsell, and same-day service when the cold can't wait.
A heat pump both heats and cools your home from one system, so any of these problems can leave you uncomfortable in any season.
Your heat pump runs but the air coming from the vents is barely warm or barely cool.
The outdoor unit is coated in ice during winter and never fully defrosts on its own.
The system heats but won't switch to cooling, or cools but won't switch to heat.
The unit turns on and off every few minutes instead of running a steady, complete cycle.
You hear grinding, buzzing, or rattling that wasn't there before, often from the outdoor unit.
Your energy bills climb while your comfort drops, a sign the system is straining to keep up.
Every visit starts with finding the real fault, not swapping parts and hoping.
A factory-trained technician checks refrigerant levels, electrical connections, airflow, and the reversing valve, which is the part that lets a heat pump switch between heating and cooling. The goal is to find the real fault before touching a part.
You get one upfront price before any work begins, with no hidden fees and no pressure to replace a system that can be repaired.
Once you approve the price, your technician makes the fix and tests the system in both heating and cooling modes.
Before wrapping up, we confirm the heat pump cycles correctly, holds temperature, and runs quietly so the problem is actually solved.
A few things move the price of a heat pump repair. The biggest is which component failed, since a contactor or capacitor is a straightforward swap while a stuck reversing valve, a leaking coil, or a failed compressor is far more involved. Refrigerant matters too, both the type your system uses (older R-22 systems are costlier to service than newer R-410A units) and how much has leaked out and needs recovering and recharging. The size and efficiency tier of your system plays a role, because variable-speed and high-SEER heat pumps rely on pricier parts and control boards than a basic single-stage unit. Age factors in as well, since parts for older or discontinued models get harder to source. And practical details shape the final number, like whether the fault sits in the outdoor unit or the indoor air handler, how accessible the equipment is, and whether the work requires a permit.
